Obtain registration token

In order to connect a service to the public test environment, the first thing we need to do will be to request a registration token (TOKEN_A in OCPI terms). Note that this token is only temporary and will become invalid once the registration is complete.

1.1 Using the Faucet

Visit https://qa-faucet.shareandcharge.com to request a registration token using your OCPI credentials (party ID and country code). The faucet will generate a token for you to use and display the versions URL needed to start the OCPI connection with the OCN Node. For more details about this connection process (also known as a credentials handshake), visit the OCPI 2.2 credentials documentation.

The parameters required refer to the OCPI country_code (ISO-3166 alpha-2) and party_id (following the ISO-15118 standard). Below is an example of this:

Should your request be successful, you will see the registration token and versions url of the OCN Node displayed, as below:

1.2 Contact us via Gitter

The faucet option only works for the first OCN Node of the Public Test Environment. If you want to use another node (e.g. run by Elaad NL at ocnnode.elaad.io), please reach out to us using our Gitter community or contact Harm van den Brink from Elaad NL directly.
